Southwest Monsoon had started with a delayed withdrawal from parts of Rajasthan. Moreover, the delay had extended over the entire northern region of the country.
However, soon Monsoon picked up pace as far as its exit is concerned and was just on time for Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. A few days of delay here and there is quite normal, and this is what happened here as well. Southwest Monsoon withdrawal line has so far even touched northern parts of Telangana, parts of Chhattisgarh and parts of Bihar.
Withdrawal of Monsoon is all set to be complete by this week. Monsoon withdrawal is considered complete when the retreating line reaches around 15°N, cutting across North Karnataka, Telangana, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and further on to East-Central Bay of Bengal.
The withdrawal will pave the way for the arrival of Northeast Monsoon, whose normal date is October 20.
