Most parts of India have received subdued rainfall during the last 24 hours. At present, Southwest Monsoon seems to be active only over Peninsular India. Therefore, the cumulative rainfall deficiency has increased to 10%. For the last 2 days, the countrywide deficiency remained at 9%.
Monsoon systems in India
According to Skymet, there is no significant Monsoon system affecting weather in India. The cyclonic circulation over North Bay of Bengal is expected to remain stationery for some more time, before intensifying into a low pressure area.
The axis of the Monsoon trough is running along the plains of North India, far north ofDelhi, up to in Northeast India. This trough is not very active at present and is not likely to gain further strength during the next few days.
The Western Disturbance overJammuand Kashmir will gradually move away in the Northeast direction. It will seize to have any impact on weather in North India after 24 hours.

The off-shore trough running from Coastal Karnataka to Kerala is also very weak.
In wake of all these weak weather systems, rainfall activity over the entire country is expected to remain subdued for at least another 48 hours. As of now, only light rainfall will continue over East India and parts of Peninsular India. Nevertheless, the daily average rainfall figure will not be met for the next few days. Thus, we can expect marginal rise in the country wide cumulative rainfall figure.
