Monsoon is one of the most awaited seasons in India and with Southwest Monsoon making a timely onset over Kerala, other states anticipate a quick arrival of Southwest Monsoon as well. The good news coming from the corner being that the wait for Southwest Monsoon in most parts of Southern Peninsula is now finally over.
So is the wait for the arrival of Monsoon is Telangana as Southwest Monsoon has now covered almost the entire Telangana including the capital city Hyderabad. As against the normal date of the onset of Monsoon over Telangana which is June 10, the same is delayed marginally by two days and has arrived on June 12.

With this, scattered rains are expected to continue over Hyderabad and other districts of the state but heavy showers as of now are not anticipated. In the last 24 hours also, Hyderabad has recorded light traces of 4 mm.
As per Skymet Weather, generally good rains over Hyderabad are observed in the month of July and August but as against the monthly mean rainfall of 111.2 mm, Hyderabad has already logged 114 mm of rains till date. Counting on this, the city has already surpassed its monthly mean. All thanks to the heavy showers of 87 mm that the city has observed on June 7.

However, despite Monsoon making an arrival over the entire state, the city is likely to witness light to moderate spells only for the next 4-5 days that too during the early morning or late afternoon hours. Due to these rains, temperatures are likely to subside and will stay in lower 20’s but still warm and humid weather will continue to persist.
