The low-pressure area which was lying over Bihar and adjoining East Uttar Pradesh has now strengthened into a well-marked low-pressure area. It is now lying over Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and adjoining regions of Bihar. This weather system could further intensify into a depression within next 24 to 48 hours.
Accordingly, Southwest Monsoon has been active in Central India, particularly Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha.
During last 24 hours, Sagar in Madhya Pradesh received 73 mm of rainfall. In Uttar Pradesh, Varanasi received 61.1 mm of rainfall.

Southwest Monsoon will remain active over Central India, particularly over Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha. In fact, rainfall is now likely to increase over these regions.
As of July 4, the rainfall deficiency has come down to 3% in Central India.
