The low-pressure area over the west central Bay of Bengal has intensified into a well-marked low. The effect of this well marked low pressure area was clearly visible over the South and Central part of the country. During the last 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rains lashed Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and parts of Maharashtra.
This heavy downpour helped in the further progress of southwest monsoon. Southwest Monsoon has covered entire Goa, parts of Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada, and remaining parts of Karnataka. Southwest Monsoon has covered entire Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Monsoon has reached up to Ramagundam in Telangana and, Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh. In the next couple of days, we expect monsoon to cover some more parts of Maharashtra, entire Telangana as well as entire Northeast India. Monsoon can reach in some more parts of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and parts of West Bengal.
Monsoon is keeping pace with normal onset dates, although it is lagging in East India but soon it will make up in East India also.
