South Peninsular India has been having rains courtesy Cyclone Mandous. In fact, for the last four to five days, good rains have been observed across the region. On December 13, against 1.3 mm of average rains, South Peninsula saw 6.7 mm of rains, which is 414 percent excess. On December 12, rains were excess by 755 percent.
Moderate to heavy showers that were lashing the region will witness a significant reduction. Moreover, only very light rains will be seen today over Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Starting tomorrow, dry weather conditions will be seen for two to three days. By december 18, rains will start to build up due to another system over the Bay of Bengal. Until then, residents may have to see dry weather.
