South India soaked in winter monsoon rain; pleasant weather in Delhi and north India

The northeast monsoon in south India has arrived with parts of north Tamil Nadu and coastal Andhra Pradesh receiving rain for the last two days. The well marked low pressure zone off Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu coast has entered the land and will continue to influence the weather for next few days.

Meanwhile, weather in Delhi and north India is pleasant as temperatures remain at comfort levels. The maximum temperature in Delhi on Monday recorded at 32.3 degrees-a normal for this time of the year. Night temperature of 17 degrees was a bit cool compared to the average minimum temperature for the month of 19.5 degrees.

Weather forecast of Delhi indicates further dip in night temperature to around 15 degrees in coming few days. Day will remain warm at around 32 degrees as sky will be clear. Similar weather conditions will prevail over northwest plains in Haryana, Punjab, northeast Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh.

Weather in central and east India will also be clear with winds blowing from the northwest direction. Night will be cool in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Nights in parts of east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand will be cooler than the last few days as winds have become northwesterly.
