A snowstorm has given heavy snowfall over Tibet, bringing normal life to a halt. The snowstorm has majorly impacted highway S207 in Burang County of Ngari Prefecture, where snow accumulation was recorded around 30 centimeters.
Moreover, at certain places snow has drifted and accumulated up to 70 centimeters. In wake of the inclement weather conditions, local meteorological department have also issued Yellow warning against blizzard and local armed police have been deployed to regulate the traffic.
Earlier last week, the snowstorm had lashed Mt Emei in Southwest China and gave heaviest snowfall in last seven years. Reportedly, depth of snow was recorded at 25 cm, which was very close to the highest ever recorded.
