February 19, 2017 1:02 PM | Skymet Weather Team

With less than 09 days left for the month of February to end and the snowfall over the hills of North India is yet to take a break. In the past week or so, light rain and snowfall has been recorded over the hills of North India, especially in the higher reaches.

At present, a fresh system has now started affecting Western Himalayas and is seen over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining North Pakistan. Thanks to this system rain and thundershowers is expected to pick up pace tonight onward. Cloudy sky has once again made a comeback and rains with snow may follow soon.

This snowfall activity is likely to continue for next 24-48 hours over the region of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. The higher reaches of Uttarakhand will receive the snowy activity but the lower reaches will stay away from the activity.

Meteorologists at Skymet Weather expects that the frequency of Western Disturbances in the days to come will be less when compared with the weather systems during the month of January and February.
