Snowfall to continue in J&K, HP & Uttarakhand; cool nights ahead in north India

The Western Disturbance (WD) that lies over Jammu & Kashmir will continue to give snowfall and rain in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for next two days. With its eastward movement, snowfall and rain will spread to some more parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in this period.
There has been rain and snowfall in Jammu & Kashmir in the last 24 hours, Srinagar recorded 3.1 mm of rain while Jammu also received of about 1 mm. Weather in Jammu & Kashmir remained cloudy yesterday, on the 6th of November. Similar weather will continue over rest of the western Himalayan region for another 48 hours.
Shimla, Dharamsala, Kullu and Manali in Himachal Pradesh will have cloudy weather with chances of rain. Night temperatures will remain above average in next 48 hours but will fall significantly after a spell of snowfall at highers places.
In Uttarakhand, weather in Dehradun and Nainital will remain cloudy and there is possibility of rain in some of areas of these hilly towns. Night temperatures will remain on the higher side of the average during next two days.

Rain is expected to continue in northwest plains in the next 24 hours. A clear sky thereafter will increase the day temperatures in the region in a few days.

Bikarner and Ajmer in Rajasthan and Hissar in Haryana as well as the national capital Delhi recorded light rain since yesterday.

North India will witness change in winds conditions from tomorrow onwards as the WD will move eastwards. Night temperatures will fall in the region due to winds coming from snowy places of the Western Himalayan region.

South India, especially extreme peninsular region of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, will witness northeast monsoon rains. These rains will remain subdued till the next surge from the Bay of Bengal.
