The Northern hills of the country are all set to witness season’s first snowfall. The wintry chill has already been knocking the doors to parts of North India wherein, most of the northern states are already witnessing moderate to dense early morning fog.
Further, the days over parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are also expected to become cool and chilly.
As per the weatherman at Skymet Weather, season’s first active Western Disturbance is at present over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. This Western Disturbance has induced a cyclonic circulation over Central Pakistan.
Due to these weather systems, isolated rain is expected to show up in parts of Jammu and Kashmir in the next 24 hours. Thereafter, these rains are likely to pace up and cover parts of Himachal Pradesh and a few parts of Uttarakhand as well. The higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir may even get to witness season’s first snowfall activity.

In fact, at present also, the night temperatures are settling below 10°C in most of the parts but day temperatures will now witness a gradual fall.
