The expanse of Kashmir region, lying in the northernmost tip of India, experiences heavy snowfall and intense winter conditions. While, even though the Jammu division does not experience snowfall but is affected by the chill coming from its neighboring territory.
The territory experienced major snowfall of the season a while ago. This caused the minimum temperatures to drop to the immense level in the various parts of the region. The valley is covered with white snow-capped mountains which provides a beautiful scenery for those traveling to the location.

As per Skymet Weather, a fresh western disturbance is approaching the Western Himalayan region which at present is lying over Afganistan and adjoining Pakistan as an upper air cyclonic circulation. The system would affect the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow. Cold day conditions are likely to abate over the plains and mainly partly cloudy to the cloudy sky will be observed. The hilltops may receive light scattered snow, mainly over the northern glacier. The day temperature would rise over the area in the next 48 hours.
Mainly clear sky and dry weather will prevail in Katra. The region may observe shallow fog during the morning and sunny sky after a while. Vaishno Devi will observe mainly dry weather with few high clouds. Morning temperature may be around 0 and may reach to 10 to 12-degree Celsius during the daytime.
The region of Jammu and Kashmir is situated near the Himalayan mountains and shares boundaries with the state of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab to the south. The climate of Jammu and Kashmir oscillates considerably, due to its uneven topography.
