Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh will continue to receive snowfall and rain during the next two days. A Western Disturbance (WD) is active in the region and would continue to affect the region in terms of snowfall and rain. Several places in the hills will receive snow and the weather will remain cloudy keeping the day temperatures below normal.

The weather system (WD) has its tail in Rajasthan and adjoining areas of Punjab that would keep the weather in the northwest plains rainy and cloudy during this period. Punjab, Haryana, parts of west Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan could receive rain.

In the last 24 hours, Ambala, Bhiwani, Hisar and Karnal have witnessed light rain which is expected to remain so for the next two days. The day temperatures in Haryana are also likely to drop during this period.

Bikaner, Churu and Sriganganagar in Rajasthan also observed light rain in the last 24 hours and the weather will remain partly cloudy to cloudy with chances of rain. Day temperatures will not drop as much as that in Haryana. Ludhiana in Punjab too witnessed light rain which is expected to occur at some more places in the state in the next two days.

While day temperatures are expected to fall in the northwest plains, night temperatures will remain above normal as heat will remain trapped under cloudy conditions. Night temperatures at some of the places in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are about 5 degrees above normal.
