Skymet Monsoon Forecast June 6 and 7

Monsoon arrived over Kerala on June 5, a little behind the scheduled date of June 1. The Monsoon current has advanced into entire Lakshadweep area and Kerala, entire south Arabian Sea, some more parts of central Arabian Sea, some parts of Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, most parts of Tamil Nadu, remaining parts of southeast Bay of Bengal and some parts of central and northeast Bay of Bengal.

The western arm of the Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) passes through Mangalore in the mainland of India, while the eastern arm has reached Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu.

According to Skymet, conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon over some more parts of the central Arabian Sea, Karnataka, remaining parts of Tamil Nadu, some parts of Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh, some more parts of central and north Bay of Bengal and southern parts of Northeast India during next 48 hours.

Conditions look favourable for onset of Monsoon over southern parts of Northeast India as well.
