In the eastern part of the country, Bihar is one state which perpetually remains a poor performance during the Southwest Monsoon period. This time also, initially a similar situation was seen wherein the month of June started poorly, but the state saw intense rains during the last few days, which turned out to be the saving grace for the state.

As on June 27, when the state had not seen enough rain, the rainfall deficiency had built up to 79 percent. However, within five days, as of now, the deficient figures have significantly reduced and are now at 31 percent. Heavy rains have been seen over the state.

These rains will continue, however, not as intense. Moreover, we can expect a week-long spell for the state of Bihar and the state will not go dry. Rains will increase in intensity when the Bay of Bengal system will move inland around July 5,6, and 7, and will improve wherein the system moves away from the state.
