Many parts of Haryana, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh recorded single digit minimum temperatures. Parts of Rajasthan, Bihar and Jharkhand also witnessed significant drop. Nowgong in Madhya Pradesh recorded 6.5 degrees Celsius as its minimum.

Cold winds from northwest are responsible for this fall in day and night temperatures. A Western Disturbance is moving across Western Himalayas therefore there may be a marginal increase in minimums during next 24 hours.

Present Western Disturbance will move away eastwards leading to commencement of icy cold winds from snow clad mountains of Western Himalayas from November 21st.

We do not expect any Western Disturbance for at least next one week. Whenever there is a significant gap between two consecutive western disturbances, flow of northwesterly dry and cold winds continuous uninterrupted.

Minimum temperatures of many parts of northwest and Central India and parts of East India will witness further drop during next 4 to 5 days. Delhi may experience minimum between 7- and 8-degree next week.
