The festival of Diwali has come with a blessing for the state of Maharashtra in form of little showers that occurred over the state after a prolonged dry spell.

During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rains occurred over many places of Madhya Maharashtra and over a few places of Vidarbha and North Konkan & Goa.

These on and off rainfall activities are the result of a trough which has formed from Karnataka to North Madhya Maharashtra and are expected to continue till November 6.

Mumbaikars, Punekars as well as the residents of Nashik also finally experienced rains after a long-time battle with dry spell.

Now, coolness in the weather has set in and residents no more need to worry about burns or discoloration and enjoy Diwali shopping with no scorching sun anymore.

However, once the trough becomes insignificant, the weather of entire state will again go dry. Particularly, Marathwada and eastern parts of Vidarbha will experience aridness to a greater extent.

Thereafter, day temperatures will rise marginally. However, nights are expected to remain cool and comfortable. No other weather system is expected to form over Maharashtra during the next week.
