Since last many days, Bengaluru city has not been receiving any traces of rain. Although, a few places over coastal parts of Karnataka have been witnessing scattered rain and thundershower activities. In fact, the last 24 hours were no different and the state capital, Bengaluru continued to prevail in dry weather conditions.
Within a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Honnavar recorded rainfall to the tune of 24 mm, followed by Mangaluru 2.2 mm and Madikeri 1 mm. Whereas the city of Bengaluru failed to record any significant good amount of rains.
These weather conditions can be attributed to a trough which is seen extending from the southeast Arabian Sea up to Tamil Nadu coast.
Due to this weather system, short spells of rain and thundershowers are expected over coastal parts of Karnataka and extreme southern parts of the state during the next 24 hours.

Districts such as Mangaluru, Karwar, Madikeri and Honnavar will continue to witness scattered light rains during the similar time frame.
In fact, due to the moist winds blowing over the state, short spells of rains are anticipated over Bengaluru during the afternoon hours today.
After 24 hours, dry weather conditions are likely to prevail in many parts of Karnataka including the state capital, Bengaluru for next few days.

During this period, sky conditions are expected to remain partly cloudy to cloudy. Afternoons will be largely comfortable while evenings and night are likely to remain pleasant.
