Short spells of Delhi rains likely for a day or two, dry weather thereafter

Short spells of Delhi rains likely for a day or two, dry weather thereafterDelhi rains which had been wreaking havoc over the national capital have taken a backseat. In fact, temperatures also have witnessed a rise in the last two days or so.

However, now the axis of Monsoon trough is running north of Delhi. The national capital is in the vicinity of the trough which is why we expect one or two short spells of rain in parts of Delhi and NCR during the next 24 to 48 hours.

Thereafter, the western end of the axis of Monsoon trough will shift to the foothills of Himalayas leading to almost dry weather conditions over Delhi and NCR. Sky will clear up, but partly cloudy sky conditions may prevail.

Both maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to witness an increase and humidity levels will also remain on the higher side. Increase in temperatures and high humidity may lead to discomfort for the residents.

However, these dry weather conditions will not stay for long and relief in sight may occur around August 8 when the axis of Monsoon trough will once again shift south towards Delhi and rains may once again commence over Delhi and the NCR region.

Thus, for some time apart from short spells of rains, dry weather is in sight for Delhi and the NCR region.
