Short spell of rain in Uttar Pradesh likely, no relief from warm weather

Rain in Uttar Pradesh

The state of Uttar Pradesh has been witnessing warm and humid weather conditions since last many days. All credit goes to the absence of any significant weather system over and around the state. Thus, uncomfortable weather is prevailing in almost all pockets of Uttar Pradesh.

In fact, the maximum temperatures over most districts of the state are seen settling in the mid-30’s. Yesterday, Lucknow recorded maximum temperature at 35.3˚C, followed by Agra 36.8˚C, Kanpur 34.9˚C, Meerut 35.1˚C, Allahabad 36.2˚C, Bareilly 36.1˚C, Gorakhpur 37.6˚C and Fursatganj 35.2˚C.

Further, as the axis of Monsoon trough is far off from the state and no other significant weather system is expected near the state, we expect the weather conditions over Uttar Pradesh to remain almost dry till the next two days.

However, due to the moist easterly winds blowing over the region, humidity levels are expected to rise over the entire state. Though any significant rainfall is not expected but due to the combination of warm and humid weather, short spell of rain and thundershower activity cannot be ruled out.

Short spells of rain and thundershower may occur over Agra, Aligarh, Auraiya, Badaun, Bahraich, Bara Banki, Bareilly, Bulandshehar, Etah, Etawah, Faizabad, Farukabad, Firozabad, Gonda, Hardoi, Phule Nagar, Kanauji, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Kanshiram Nagar, Kheri, Lucknow, Mahamaya Nagar, Mainpuri, Moradabad, Pilibhit, Rampur, Sambhal, Shahjahanpur, Shrawasti, Sitapur and Unnao districts of Uttar Pradesh during next 12 hours
