It is not just the weather gods who have turned up the heat in Aamchi Mumbai, the results of the BMC elections have been responsible for changing the weather in Mumbai. While Shiv Sena emerged as the largest party with 84 seats, the Bhartiya Janta Party was just two notches behind and witnessed a massive gain with a whopping 82 seats.
It was Congress which was feeling the most of the Maharashtra heat as it could only bag 31 seats. The surprise element was BJP as before this, they had never won anything more than a mere 40 seats. Well, we could thank the NaMo wave, may be! Devendra Fadnavis also needs to be equally thanked, being the new face as CM.
The ones who witnessed a massive setback were leaders including Sushil Kumar Shinde, Ajit Pawar, Sanjay Nirupam, and the ever-popular Raj Thackerey. The inside clash in the Congress was BJP’s gain. Raj Thackerey completely lost face after such a massive loss. In fact, he has lost his base in both Mumbai as well as Nashik with less than 10 seats.
Now, the question arises that who will emerge as the final victor here! There is a huge possibility that both the BJP and Shiv Sena will go for a coalition. However, before that, the heat in Mumbai will remain at its peak as both these parties will try to claim support from independent parties.
In fact, temperatures have been on the rise and are settling above normal. In the coming days, both weather wise and politically, the mercury will be on the rise
