In the same span of time, Srinagar, Shimla, Tehri, Mukhteshwar, Nainital, and Una also received light intensity rains. As per Skymet Weather, the reason for the increase in rainfall activities can be attributed to the north wards shifting of the axis of the Monsoon trough.
Presently the axis of Monsoon trough is running across Amritsar, Karnal, and Bareilly. As the trough is running close to the foothills of the state’s continuous rains have been occurring and now we expect that light to moderate showers will continue over many parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and at a few places over Jammu and Kashmir for the next 24 hours.

Thereafter the intensity of rain may decrease but scattered light to moderate showers will continue. However, rain intensity over Jammu and Kashmir will reduce by tomorrow. Due to these hefty rainfall activities, many incidents of landslides have also occurred which led to a few deaths. These landslides are a normal phenomenon whenever good rains occur.
