According to Skymet Weather, Telangana is likely to reel under severe heatwave conditions during next two to three days as maximum temperatures touch alarming levels.
Several districts of Nizamabad, Karimanagar, Khammam, Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Nalgonda are likely to see high day temperatures between 40°C and 45°C.
Mercury has already started soaring across the state, with Ramagundam and Nalgonda recording the highest day temperature at 44°C. This was followed by Nizamabad 42.9°C, Bhadrachalam 43°C, Medak 43°C, Bidar 42.8°C and Hyderabad 41.8°C.
All these temperatures are at least 3-4 degrees above normal temperatures.
Besides sharp rise in the maximum temperatures, increase in humidity levels will further worsen the situation. At present, humid southerly winds are blowing over Telangana on account of a cyclonic circulation prevailing over the region.
According to Skymet Weather, moisture in the air increases the real feel temperature by at least 4-5 degrees.

So far, the heatwave condition has already claimed over 111 lives in Telangana and neighbouring state of Andhra Pradesh in this season.
66 people have died in Telangana, while 45 people were reported dead in Andhra Pradesh.
Weather models are of indications that 2016 is likely to be one of the hottest year on record. So far, predictions are turning out to be true with summers making appearance well in advance.
