Rajasthan heat

During this part of the year, normal pattern of winds is from west or northwest over Rajasthan and heatwave conditions are very common over this region. These hot and dry winds from South and Central Pakistan, in combination with clear skies and bright sunshine, keep on increasing the sun’s insolation. This leads to severe heatwave conditions.

As of now, we can see a cyclonic circulation over North Central Arabian Sea at about 7000 to 10,000 ft above the sea level. This is bringing moderate southwesterly winds over Rajasthan and Gujarat. These humid and relatively less hot winds are instrumental in dropping the temperatures. Nevertheless, humidity has increased to a great extent and weather conditions will remain quite uncomfortable.
