Severe heat wave grips Delhi, Safdarjung records maximum at 41.6 degrees

Delhi has been witnessing high temperatures for a long time now. However, it was only yesterday that the base Observatory Safdarjung recorded maximum above the 40° mark. The Observatory had still not seen a severe heat wave condition.

Today, maximum temperature has increased even further and has now been recorded at 41.6°C which is the highest this season. In fact, this maximum is 7° above the normal levels which means that Safdarjung is now under the grip of severe heat wave conditions.

Moreover, all the stations of Delhi are recording maximums above 40 degrees, and these maximums are at least 6-7 degrees above the normal levels. Therefore, the entire national capital is observing severe heat wave.

The maximum temperature for other stations of Delhi are as follows: Jafarpur 42.3°C, Mungeshpur 43°C, Najafgarh 43.3°C, Ayanagar 42.4°C, Lodhi Road 41.9°C, Ridge 42.9°C, Palam 42°C, and Pitampura 43.4°C.

These conditions are expected to continue and maximum temperatures may even see a further rise, resulting in scorching heat for Delhiites.
