Hyderabad weather usually remains dry and pleasant during the month of December. So much so that the city receives a mere 4.9 mm of rainfall during the entire month. In fact, last year, the city did not even receive a mere mm of rainfall in December.

This year as well, until now, Hyderabad has not received rains and continues to be dry with pleasant weather conditions. However, a good news awaits the residents of the capital city of Telangana. Cyclone Vardah which has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm is expected to give rains over Hyderabad.

The storm is currently in the waters of the Bay of Bengal and is moving towards the southern parts of the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh. By December 12, the system is expected to hit the Andhra Pradesh coast during the afternoon or evening hours after weakening into a cyclonic storm.

During that time, moisture incursion is expected to increase over several parts of Telangana as well and light rains are on the cards for the city. In fact, some areas may also receive a few moderate spells. These rains are expected to continue until December 14 and the city is likely to get a few spells of rain. These rains will result in marginal drop in the temperatures.

The residents of Hyderabad are expected to receive an early Christmas present in the form of rains in the city.
