For the past few days, parts of Central India have been observing severe cold wave conditions. Minimums have been recording way below the normal levels.
Parts of East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha, have been reeling under severe weather conditions.
However, coldwave conditions are likely to abate from these areas during the next few days.
An anti-cyclone feature has established over Central Madhya Pradesh. This system is likely to slope in the southwest direction gradually.
Due to this change, warm and moist winds will start blowing over the central parts of the country in the next two to three days.
Thus, after a few days, severe coldwave conditions will bid adieu to Central India. Gradually, the minimums will witness a rise and settle around the average range. Presently, temperatures in Vidarbha are being recorded well below the average levels. For instance, Gondia recorded a minimum of 7°C, Nagpur 6°C, Wardha and Akola 9°C.
Madhya Pradesh has also been observing below normal temperatures. Seoni observed the minimum as 7°C, Umaria 3.8°C, and Rewa 4.2°C. These temperatures have been about 5 to 8 degrees below the normal levels. For the next two days, these conditions will remain the same. However, improvement is in sight.
