September in deficit for Delhi, dry weather for rest of the month

The month of August entered with a large deficit of 60 percent for Delhi NCR. September has also been a disappointment so far. While the weekend did bring some rains for the national capital, the month has not been a good one. The national capital is in deficit for September with rains received so far at 83 mm so far, against the normal of 128 mm.

With no significant weather activity likely in the coming days, there does not seem to be a possibility that the city will cover the deficiency. In fact, we do not expect any more rain this month. The rest of September will remain dry.

Monsoon withdrawal is likely to begin shortly from Rajasthan and thereafter, with dry weather conditions persisting, Delhi and the NCR region will also follow suit. Thus, the possibility of rain in Delhi NCR is reduced all the more.
