During the last 24 hours, Mumbai and suburbs lashed by heavy rains. In the last 24 hours, Santacruz recorded 3-digit rainfall consecutively for the second day with 155 mm rain. In the last 24 hours, Colaba recorded 24 mm of rain. Rains caused waterlogging in Matunga, Dadar, Santacruz, Bandra, and Antop Hill areas.

Two persons died after a portion of a 'chawl' (tenement) collapsed in suburban Malvani. In another incident, 2 more people lost their lives, when a part of an old building collapsed in South Mumbai's Fort area.

The east-west shear zone which was over north Konkan and Goa and was passing over Mumbai is shifting north. Low-level wind convergence is also weakening. Now the rain activities over Mumbai and suburbs will reduce significantly. Short spells of rain and thundershower will continue for at least the next 3 to 4 days. Sky condition will remain cloudy with occasional showers. There will be a gradual increase in temperatures, leading to warm and humid weather conditions.
