Two of these prominent states are Rajasthan as well as Gujarat which have becoming the sizzle zones of the country. Mercury levels have continued to settle above the 40-degree mark wreaking havoc over many areas.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature at Phalodi in Rajasthan settled at 43.2°C making it the hottest pocket of the country. Other cities including Jaisalmer 42.9°C, Barmer 41.1°C, Bikaner 41.0°C, Jodhpur 40.4°C, and a few others in Rajasthan are recording abnormally high temperatures.
Gujarat has also not been left far behind with many areas in the state recording sky high temperatures including Kandla 42.0°C, Rajkot 40.6°C, Surendranagar 41.8°C, Amreli 40.4°C, Ahmedabad 39.3°C.
These weather conditions are attributed to the inflow of dry and hot winds from the Sindh and Balochistan region where maximums are already settling close to 45-degrees. As per weathermen, these regions will continue to sizzle with sky high maximums and no relief is in sight.
