During the last 24 hours, the state of Chhattisgarh has received scattered light rains, whereas few spells of moderate rains were observed in Odisha during the same time frame.

As of now, no significant weather system is anticipated to affect Odisha as well as Chhattisgarh; as a result rains will now take a back seat over both the states. However, scattered rains cannot be ruled out over South Chhattisgarh and interior parts of Odisha for another 24 to 48 hours.
Thereafter, the weather is anticipated to become mainly dry. Till then, days will continue to be warm with temperatures settling in the range of 33-36 degrees, while minimums will settle near 31-34 degrees, with comfortable nights.

Rains will again pace up over the states of Odisha and Chhattisgarh around October 18-19. During this period, moderate to heavy rains may lash the regions. Places such as Balasore, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Sambalpur and Keonjhargarh in Odisha will witness good showers. In the same manner; Raipur, Pendra, Bilaspur and Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh are expected to observe good rainy spells during the same time frame.
The reason for this intensification of rain activity could be attributed to the northward movement of a well-marked low pressure area which is expected to develop over east central Bay of Bengal in the coming days.
