Delhi weather has not been too kind for the past few days. In fact, the national capital has been witnessing hot weather conditions with the humidity levels high on charts. Good Monsoon rains have not made an appearance over the city leaving the residents craved for Monsoon showers.

The last time the city received some rains was over a week ago wherein Delhi recorded 5.6 mm of rains. However, due to these light showers over the city, humidity levels only increased. Since then, Delhiites have been craving for a few good spells of Monsoon rains.

Now, it seems like the prayers of these residents is expected to be answered as the city is expected to witness a few rainy spells today. Delhi and the NCR region may receive a few spells of scattered rain during the next few hours. Thereafter, clouds may regenerate and another spell may occur over the city around the afternoon/evening hours.

These rains will occur due to a fresh cyclonic circulation which is currently over West Uttar Pradesh and the adjoining region. A trough is also extending from this system up to the Punjab region. During the last 24 hours, good rains have occurred over many parts of Punjab as well as Uttar Pradesh.

Now it’s Delhi’s turn to receive some Monsoon showers. The system is expected to persist, thus, the possibility of a few spells of rains during the next 24 hours is quite likely.
