The coastal parts of Maharashtra observed a significant decrease in the rainfall activities. However, scattered light to moderate intensity of rains have been occurring over southern parts of Konkan region since last few days. Whereas, the city of Goa has not observed good showers for quite a long time now.
In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Vengurla recorded 2 mm of rainfall while the remaining parts of coastal Maharashtra failed to record any significant good amount of rains. On the other hand, the Goa city has merely recorded traces of rain.

These weather conditions can be attributed to a trough which is seen extending from South Chhattisgarh up to South Konkan across Telangana and South Maharashtra.
Due to this trough, scattered rain and thundershowers are expected to continue over southern parts of Konkan region and as well as Goa during the next 24 hours.
Districts such as Ratnagiri, Alibag, Goa, Vengurla, Sindhudurg and Harnai will witness scattered rains within the next 24 hours.

After 24 hours, dry weather conditions are anticipated to prevail, although on and off scattered showers will continue to make an appearance over these regions. During this period, sky conditions are likely to become partly cloudy.
