Scattered rains expected over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan

Fresh Western disturbance has approached Western Himalayas. During the last 24 hours, rain and thundershowers have occurred at many places of Jammu and Kashmir and a few places cover Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. Rains have also occurred at isolated pockets of Uttarakhand and North Haryana. Intense rain and thundershower activities were observed over the northern districts of Punjab.

Today, scattered rains are expected to continue over Jammu and Kashmir, parts of Himachal Pradesh and isolated pockets of Uttarakhand. The intensity and spread of rains will increase tomorrow on April 7. Many parts of Punjab, Haryana as well as parts of northwest and West Rajasthan may also get rain and thundershower activities. Delhi may receive patchy rains on April 7. There are chances of dust storm activities over parts of Rajasthan.

By April 8, rains will reduce over Northern Plains however, the western Himalayas may continue with scattered rains.

Another Western disturbance is expected on April 9th, which will give scattered rain and thundershowers over hills. The weather of Northern Plains will remain almost dry, with isolated to scattered rains over north Haryana and Punjab, isolated the dust storm over Rajasthan.

These successive western disturbances will not allow the day temperatures to increase significantly over northern plains during next week.
