Almost entire state of Northeast India has been experiencing dry weather since last many days. Similarly, places such as Goalpara, Tezpur, Passighat, Golaghat, Guwahati, Aizwal, Kohima and Dibrugarh have been facing such weather conditions during the aforementioned period.
At present, Northeast Monsoon has finally commenced and northeasterly winds have strengthened over the area in the lower tropospheric levels.
Within the span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, several districts in the state have failed to record any significant good amount of rains. Although, a few places such as Shillong and Gangtok have managed to merely record traces of rain.
These weather conditions can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is seen persisting over Bangladesh. A trough is also seen extending from NMMT (Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura) up to North Bihar across Bangladesh and North Bengal.

Due to these weather systems, scattered light rain and thundershower activities are expected in some parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 24 hours.
While remaining areas of Northeast India will continue to reel under dry weather conditions for next few days.

Further, fog and mist formation is likely during the morning hours at some places.
Due to the northeasterly winds prevailing over the state, maximums are further likely to drop marginally over most parts. Hence, afternoons are anticipated to remain mainly comfortable.
