In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday, Jagadalpur recorded 43 mm of heavy rains, Bhubaneswar 36 mm, Cuttack 19 mm, Raipur 19 mm, Durg 15 mm, Angul 9 mm, Sambalpur 7 mm, Koraput 6 mm, Pulbani 6 mm and Pendra 4 mm.

All thanks to a cyclonic circulation which is over Odisha and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal. Along with this, a north-south trough continues to persist from South Madhya Pradesh up to North Kerala.

With the combined effect of these weather systems, light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells are likely to continue over Chhattisgarh. Places such as Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Bilaspur and Pendra will witness Monsoon rains.
