The northwestern parts of the country have seen decent amount of weather activities during the second half of March. In fact, some rainfall activity was observed during the beginning of April itself. Due to this, we could not see rising temperatures over these areas and they have continued to remain below normal until now.

Dry weather is expected over northwestern parts of the country for the next few days. Moreover, until April 15, we can expect the maximum temperature to witness a rise again and will be above normal in many places. Cities of Ambala, Chandigarh, Karnal, Barnala, Ludhiana, Patiala, Moga, Faridkot, Taran Tarn etc. may see maximums around 40 degrees.

However, this situation may not last for very long as a fresh western disturbance is expected to approach the hills of north India which will as it is not have a lot of effect over the plains in terms of rains but this may arrest the rise in temperatures that the region has been observing for the past couple of days. In a nutshell, while maximum temperatures will increase until April 15, there is expected to be an arrest after that for sometime.
