Rise in temperatures expected over Northwest plains of India

By looking at the present weather conditions, it will be safe to say that the winter season has finally abated the northern plains of the country. The brief lived season of spring has shown up over most parts of the country meaning pleasant weather is seen over India. But this short lived season of spring will be over soon enough.

At present, the cool northwesterly winds are prevailing over the northwest plains of India. The temperatures are below normal in few areas and close to normal in most parts of the region. With the approach of Western Disturbance and induced low pressure area, the wind pattern is likely to change.

The southwesterly winds will blow initially over the region which will thereafter change by the southerly–southeasterly winds. These winds are warm and comparatively moist in nature, resulting temperatures to rise over the region. Most parts of North Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab including parts of West Uttar Pradesh will witness spiked up levels of mercury for next 48 hours.

There is a minor probability of isolated rainfall activity on March 1. This rainfall activity is possible In few parts of Haryana with thundershowers may develop.
