During the past 24 hours; heavy showers occurred over southern districts of Gujarat that includes Veraval, Mahuva and Valsad. These heavy deluges have triggered flooding as well.
Likewise; light rain were also witnessed over Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Rajkot.

These rains could be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which is persisting over South Gujarat and neighborhood.
Now, weatherman at Skymet Weather is of the view that the intensity of rainfall would increase over Gujarat, bringing moderate to heavy showers over Saurashtra as well as Gujarat region.
For the interim, Kutch region would continue to deal with more or less dry weather conditions, wherein light showers cannot be ruled out. So in a nutshell, we would say that the entire state would observe rainfall this week of varying intensity.
Place such as Surat, Mahuva, Veraval, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Vadodara and Ahmedabad would observe good rains for the next two days. While, Rajkot, Surendranagar, Deesa and Idar may witness one or two moderate spells during the same time period.
So we could term this rainy episode as the revival of Monsoon in the state of Gujarat. What’s more; these rainy spells are expected to be advantageous for already sown Rabi crops and will turn as a natural irrigation for these crops.
