September 25, 2022 12:49 PM | Skymet Weather Team

The month of September has been very generous for Uttar Pradesh in terms of rainfall. Rain deficiency of Uttar Pradesh has reduced to 30% whereas it was around 48% in the beginning of the month. Rain deficiency of Bihar has also come down to 31%.

During last 3 to 4 days, moderate to heavy rain lashed many parts of Uttar Pradesh, however, rain was light to moderate over Bihar. The last low-pressure area of Monsoon season which developed over North Bay of Bengal has travelled up to Northwest Madhya Pradesh.

The Low Pressure Area has weakened, but a Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over Uttar Pradesh. We expect moderate rain with a few heavy spells to continue over Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours. Rain activities will also intensify over Bihar and on and off rain may continue over Bihar for at least next one week.

Rain will subside over Uttar Pradesh after 24 to 48 hours, but light scattered rain may continue. Another Cyclonic Circulation is expected to develop over North Bay of Bengal by September 27 or 28 but this Cyclonic Circulation may not induce a low-pressure area.

Furthermore, its impact will remain up to West Bengal and Bihar. Therefore, despite reduced rain activities over East India Bihar may continue to receive good spells of rain.
