The cyclonic circulation developing over northeast Bay of Bengal is likely to become a low pressure area within 24 hours.
In the next 24 to 48 hours, the weather system will bring widespread good Monsoon rain over Telangana, Chhattisgarh, east Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. The rain belt will gradually shift to bring rest of Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Maharashtra under its purview.
By the 22nd and 23rd, a fresh weather system will bring rain over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha.

Meanwhile, good showers will continue along the west coast, particularly Konkan and Goa, under the influence of the Monsoon trough running from Gujarat coast to Kerala coast.
On Saturday, Agumbe in Karnataka received a whopping 232 mm of rain while Madikeri received 62.4 mm of rain. Goa received 27 mm of rain, Ratnagiri 32 mm and Karwar16 mm.
According to latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the Monsoon surge will remain on a low key over Kerala. Mumbai will also continue to receive rain throughout the month, but with varying intensity.
The west coast is one of the two main pockets of India (other being Northeast) where Monsoon rain is usually very heavy during the Monsoon season and therefore, they play a vital role in affecting the overall rainfall figures of the country.
The cumulative rain deficit in Central India now stands at 41%. In South India there has been no change in the last 24 hours and thus, remains stagnant at 27%.
