According to a new survey, 40 percent residents want to move out of the city due to the rising pollution.
The survey has been conducted by an online platform “LocalCircles” which interviewed over 17000 respondents from the Delhi NCR.
Not to surprise, the findings are very predictable following the ever-mounting pollution levels in the city.
Out of the total respondents, 13 percent of residents believe that they have no option but to cope with rising pollution levels. 40 percent of the respondents want to quit living in the city altogether while 1 percent said they would stay in Delhi NCR while equipping themselves with air purifiers and masks.
Post Diwali, Delhi‘s air has only got worse with the AQI searing as high as 700 at some places. The residents have been affected to the core and are even thinking of leaving the city soon if the pollution keeps on appearing the way it does.
The survey also asked the respondents on how massively has Delhi’s air pollution affected their health; 13 percent respondents said a relative or family member had to visit a hospital. 29 percent of the total respondents said one or more members of the family had to see a doctor. 44 percent respondents were having pollution related health problems but have not visited a doctor or hospital yet while only 14 percent of people said they haven’t felt any impact of pollution on health.
