Remnants of tropical Storm Saudel to emerge as Low Pressure Area in the Bay of Bengal

The month of October is one of the favourable months for cyclogenesis in the Indian ocean. But October of 2020 remained comparatively calm as there was no cyclone formation in the Bay of Bengal or in the Arabian Sea. Although two low pressure areas formed in the Bay of Bengal. First low pressure intensified into a deep depression and moved across Central parts of the country and emerged as low pressure over the Northeast Arabian sea. The second low-pressure area intensified into a depression and moved toward Gangetic West Bengal and Bangladesh.

The tropical Storm Saudel is in the South China Sea. It will continue to move in West North West direction across Vietnam and Thailand. After making landfall over Vietnam, it will start weakening and will emerge in the Bay of Bengal as a low pressure area by October 29 or 30. It may Intensify into well marked low pressure area and will move initially in West North West direction across central parts of the Bay of Bengal toward north Andhra and Odisha coast. It is expected to recover in North Northeast and North-East direction toward Bangladesh. This will be the third low pressure in the Bay of Bengal in the month of October.
