Remnants of Cyclone Vardah give light rains in Bangalore

December 16, 2016 2:38 PM |

Rain in BangaloreRemnants of Cyclone Vardah continue to affect the weather over Bangalore, bringing rains and drizzling on Friday morning. Though intensity of rains was confined to light only but the weather over the state capital has become extremely pleasant.

At present, the day maximums have been hovering around 23°C with partly cloudy sky conditions. We expect weather to remain comfortable for the next 24 hours.

Remnant of Vardah has reemerged in the Arabian Sea and is now seen as a low-pressure area in Southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep region.

With the system travelling in favourable weather conditions, Vardah is likely to get more marked. However, it will be gradually moving westwards, far away from the Indian Coast.

With this, we expect rains to reduce significantly and dry weather conditions will prevail over Karnataka including Bangalore. Maximum temperatures which have registered a drop will also start rising again.

Vardah has already given heavy to very heavy rains over the garden city. So far, the city has recorded 65 mm of rain, out of which 60.8 mm was observed on Monday itself. With this, Bangalore has also surpassed its monthly average rainfall of 15.7 mm.
