Extremely good rains have been drenching several parts of Jharkhand. The reason for these weather conditions can be attributed to the well-marked low pressure area which was over Gangetic West Bengal but now shifted to Jharkhand.

In wake of this weather system, heavy to extremely heavy rainfall are going on over many places over the state and adjoining areas of West Bengal.
In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday, Ranchi recorded a whopping 204 mm of rainfall, followed by Daltonganj 125 mm, Jamshedpur 104 mm, Bokaro 104 mm and Chaibasa 37 mm.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, this well-marked low pressure area will weaken into a low pressure area in the next 24 hours. Hence, the intensity of rains will reduce over Jharkhand as well as West Bengal. But then again, heavy rains over few places cannot be ruled out.
Moderate rain and thundershower with lightening strikes are expected over Bokaro, Chatra, Dhanbad, Garhwa, Gumla, Hazaribag, Khunti, Latehar, Lohardaga, Palamu, Pashchim Singhbhum, Purba Singhbhum, Ramgarh, Ranchi, Saraikela Kharsawan and Simdega during the next 12 hours.
By July 28, there will be a major decrease in the rain intensity over the state. Light to moderate rains will continue in some parts and the districts like Jamshedpur and Ranchi which are receiving heavy to extremely heavy rains since last many days will have a sigh of relief as the weather conditions will start improving.
As on July 25, Jharkhand is rain surplus by 5%.
