Relief from the scorching heat expected in Rajasthan

Winters were milder this season as compared with some of the previous winter months. Though winters made its onset in the month of December, most of the states across the northern region did not observe winter chill until January continuing until the initial days of February.

The temperatures of Rajasthan have also remained appreciably above normal at most of the places. The clear sky too added the mercury to scale up further. Moreover, back to back Western Disturbances affecting the Western Himalayas also did not allow the flow of cold northwesterly winds to prevail over the region that led to the rise in temperatures.

As the continuous dry weather has been prevailing across almost the entire country, except for the extreme northwest districts of the state. During last 24 hours, isolated rains were observed over Sri Ganganagar. Though, now, the weather has once again become dry over northwest Rajasthan.

However, as per Skymet Weather, now the Western Disturbance which was affecting the Western Himalayas and was seen over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining North Pakistan is moving away. Thus, the cold winds have also started penetrating over the region. This is expected to curtail down the temperatures by 5-6 degrees in next 24 hours.

Hence, the weather of entire Rajasthan is expected to once again become comfortable with cooler nights.
