Monsoon has shown its activeness over entire Northeast India this July. Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh have received heavy to very heavy rainfall on many occasions all throughout July. But since last 3 days, Monsoon has remained subdued over the entire region.
But still, despite the good rain in July, Arunachal Pradesh is just rain surplus by 3% whereas Assam and Meghalaya are rain deficient by 25%. The remaining states of the Northeast India are rain deficient by 34%.
Despite the good rains, this rain deficiency persists due to the subdued rainfall in June. Now we expect that rain will once again increase over most parts of Northeast India tomorrow onwards. Few places may even receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.
This active Monsoon condition will remain till July 31. After that the rain intensity will once again go down. As of now, July is expected to end with good rains. As a whole, the month of July has been great in terms of rainfall.
Due to the subdued rainfall, the flood situation might have settled down for a bit but more rain in sight may trigger floods again.
