Mumbai and suburbs are experiencing moderate to heavy showers for the last two days. During the last 24 hours, Santacruz recorded 53 mm and Colaba 37 mm of rain. In the last 24 hours, heavy rain occurred over many more parts of North Maharashtra, Matheran recorded 124 mm, Thane Belapur 60 mm, and Mahabaleshwar 75 mm of rain.
The well marked low pressure area is now over West Madhya Pradesh and adjoining parts of Rajasthan, and a trough is extending from this weather system to western parts of Saurashtra and Kutch.
Now rain activities will increase over Gujarat and will reduce over Konkan and Goa including Mumbai. There may be scattered showers over parts of Mumbai and suburbs until today afternoon, but rains will reduce gradually. By tomorrow August 31st, there will be a significant decrease in rain activities over Mumbai and suburbs.
The weather will go almost dry over Mumbai and adjoining parts of north Konkan and Goa between September 1 and September 8. September is going to commence with a dry note for Mumbai. There may be a marginal increase in temperatures during Mumbai and suburbs. Due to clear sky and bright sunshine as well as increasing temperatures, the weather of Mumbai May become sultry.
