Higher areas of Champawat and Almora received season’s first snowfall after almost 40 years. More than two feet of snow was observed in Ramgarh, Kausani, Berinag and Dhanachuli.

Though snow also brought perils along with it for tourists and residents of Uttarakhand as motor roads in many parts of the hilly state were closed due to the sudden and unexpected snowfall.
