Ranchi, Patna, Parbhani sear with record breaking temperaturesIntense heatwave conditions have clasped several parts of the country for the past few weeks. Meanwhile, Northeast India has been experiencing pleasant weather conditions due to the constant rains that have been lashing the region during this period.

However, Northeast India’s immediate neighbours have been witnessing withering heat resulting in record breaking temperatures. Several areas in Jharkhand, Bihar, and West Bengal have been observing extremely high maximums.

For instance, at 41.6°C, Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand, recorded its highest maximum in 5 years on April 20. Jamshedpur also sizzled at 45.2°C, which was the highest in half a decade. Many other cities in Jharkhand are also reeling under intense heatwave conditions.

Patna in Bihar has also been sweltering under scorching weather conditions. The city recorded 43 degree Celsius as its maximum which is the highest in five years. Also, Patna has only crossed the 43-degree mark once in the year 2010.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra has also been experiencing blistering heat with most areas recording temperatures above the 40-degree mark.

So much so that Parbhani sizzled at 45.1°C, which is the highest maximum ever recorded. With the prevailing situation, maximums are all set to increase even further in all these areas.

The intense heatwave has also made a comeback over Bankura, where the maximum has been recorded as 45.8°C. Other areas in West Bengal have also been observing above average temperatures.

Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh has also recorded 45.3 degree Celsius. With no weather system affecting the above-mentioned areas, relief is highly unlikely.
